- Alabama ED Rashaan Evans is yet another quality pass-rusher from a stacked SEC edge defender class. In limited action last season, Evans showed the potential of a quality player when given the chance. In doing so, he ranks as a Day 3 PFF draft day projection.
- On just 77 pass-rush snaps last season, Evans totalled 20 total pressures to lead the draft class with a pass-rush productivity (PRP) of 22.9. He also led the draft class with a PRP of 24.3 on third down (PRP measures pressure created on a per snap basis with weighting towards sacks).
- It wasn’t just in the passing game where Evans showed potential. With 21 stops in run defense on just 127 run snaps Evans had the fourth-highest run stop percentage among draft-eligible edge defenders at 10.4 percent (a stop is anything that is constituted as a “win” for the defense)
- The big question for Evans in 2017 will be if he can put together a full season of this type of production. Evans has only played 482 career snaps while at Alabama which is only 19.9 percent of the defensive snaps during that time.
