- Pittsburgh T Brian O’Neill flashed ability in both the pass and run game last season earning a Day 3 PFF draft projection on the PFF big board. Another strong showing this season could see the Pittsburgh offensive tackle climb up team’s draft boards.
- The strongest area of O’Neill’s game last season was his pass blocking as O’Neill earned a pass blocking efficiency (PBE) of 99.2 which ranks T-No. 1 in the class (PBE measures pressure allowed on a per snap basis with weighting towards sacks). He did not give up a single sack, and surrendered just four total pressures on 366 pass block snaps in 2016.
- O’Neill has the tenth-highest run block success percentage in this year’s draft class at 94.7 percent. Not surprisingly, he also gave up the ninth-lowest percentage of negatively-graded blocks in the draft class.
- Although O’Neill did have the tenth-highest run block success rate, he only ranked No. 72 in the draft class in positively-graded run blocks.
