- Wisconsin has had a trend of putting offensive linemen in the NFL, and junior C Michael Deiter could be one of the latest to make that leap.
- Playing 1,007 snaps in 2016, Deiter recorded an overall grade of 83.9, and his run blocking grade of 83.8 is tops among returning Big Ten centers.
- Additional versatility (225 of his 2016 snaps came at guard) certainly won't hurt Deiter's cause at the next level, and with Ryan Ramcyzk departing after being drafted in the first round by the New Orleans Saints, Wisconsin is having the 6-foot-5, 329 pound Deiter move over to left tackle in 2017.
- At center, Deiter allowed 16 total pressures resulting in a pass blocking efficiency of 96.6 that ranked 112th at the position. While he won't be the blindside protector this year (Wisconsin starting QB Alex Hornibrook is left-handed), Deiter ‘s set to be faced with a tough challenge on the edge in 2017 and will need to improve his pass-blocking skills.
