  • Arizona State RB Kalen Ballage tormented opposing defenses as a receiving threat out of the backfield, as he led all returning Pac-12 running backs with his 2.34 yards per route run in 2016.
  • Taking advantage of his opportunities in the open field, Ballage forced 18 missed tackles last season, the highest total among the same group of running backs.
  • Ballage also averaged 11.6 yards after the catch per reception, which ranked T-No. 1 among returning Power 5 running backs with at least 40 targets last season.
  • Ballage’s success through the air carried over to his performance in pass-protection, as he ranked No. 2 in total pressures allowed (three) among returning Pac-12 running backs with over 70 pass-blocking snaps.
