  • Boston College DE Harold Landry enters the 2017 college football season as  a PFF Day 1 projection for the 2018 NFL draft. The 2016 FBS sack leader opted to return for his senior season in favor of the NFL Draft, where he likely would have been a first round pick back in April.
  • Landry led all returning draft eligible defenders with 69 total pressures last season for a pass-rush productivity (PRP) of 17.5, which is No. 1 among draft eligible 4-3 defensive ends. Landry’s best ability last year was winning on the outside, where 40 of his 69 total pressures came (58 percent). PRP measures pressure created on a per snap basis with weighting towards sacks.
  • It wasn’t just in the pass game where Landry excelled, with 36 stops in run defense, that number ranked him No. 2 among returning ACC edge defenders. Landry showed he can have a presence in the run game as well.
  • Landry returns for his senior season as the highest graded FBS edge defender in college football with an overall PFF grade of 89.7. He also returns with a pass rushing grade of 90.2 which ranks No. 1 among returning FBS edge defenders.
