2024 Recap

A 4-8 finish in 2023 put Sam Pittman firmly on the hot seat, but a 7-6 rebound last season — highlighted by an upset of playoff-bound Tennessee and a Liberty Bowl win over Texas Tech — gave him some breathing room. To keep his job beyond 2025, Pittman will lean heavily on star quarterback Taylen Green and sophomore running back Braylen Russell to power a dangerous rushing attack.

Defense, however, remains a significant question mark. Only five of the 16 defenders who played 300-plus snaps last season will return for 2025, and Arkansas faces one of the nation’s most demanding schedules, including a nonconference showdown with national runner-up Notre Dame.
