College Football Playoff implications dominate Rivalry Week 2018

The 2018 iteration of the final full week of the regular season in college football, the aptly-named ‘Rivalry Week,' is full of aspiring teams with hopes of being selected as one of four teams to join the College Football Playoff. While some rivalry matchups currently possess two teams who are vying for a potential spot in the playoff, others have archrivals who are hoping to play spoiler to their nemesis.

Other matchups pitting in-state rivals also draw intrigue this season as some are fighting for bowl eligibility, some are hoping to ride momentum into their conference championship and one team down in the Sunshine State that must defeat their bitter rival Gators, in order to stave off the worst season since 1976.
