East Division
TE Austin Dorris – Indiana Hoosiers
Clearly a longterm project that will take time to develop, Dorris (6'5″, 230 pounds) was used as a quarterback during his time at Shadyside High School (game tape). His game tape reveals his comfort having the ball in his hands and, from reading scouting reports, has also showcased a smooth ability to catch the ball away from his body.
Bottom Line: When evaluating a raw prospect transitioning to a new position, game-proven ability to adept to positional nuances is paramount. That said, when the conversation centers on the college tight end position, exposure to any-and-all options is a must. Dorris has a plodding 5.03 40-time, but if he can display the hands to secure the football, DFS rosters will happily make a home for him prior to reaching the peak of his ability.
