Bengals: Jeremy Hill making an impact

Jeremy Hill, the first-year running back out of LSU, looks PFF-headlinesset to make another start this weekend against the Saints, since the regular starter, Giovani Bernard, hasn’t practiced since Week 8. Asked to assume a larger role, Hill has seized the opportunity.

Hill made his first career start in Week 9 against Jacksonville, racking up 154 rushing yards, 56 of which came after contact, and a pair of touchdowns; good for a +1.3 run grade. Forcing four missed tackles, his 37.3 Elusive Rating was fifth-best among qualifying backs that week.

Hill had fewer opportunities against the Browns in Week 10, yet still posted another positive rushing grade (+0.2), despite coughing up the ball for the first time in his young career. On just 12 carries, he was able to grind out 33 yards after contact and force three missed tackles, resulting in an impressive 63.5 Elusive Rating.

Hill's performance as a rusher, and in pass protection, (he has a perfect 100.0 Pass Blocking Efficiency), should ensure he continues to be involved in the Bengals offense once Bernard returns.
