Position fit:

Center. Ability to swing out to guard if needed

Stats to know:

Second-highest graded run blocking center in the SEC. Allowed zero sacks and only 13 pressures over the past two seasons.

Combine Stats:

Height: 6-4
Weight: 311 pounds
Arm Length: 33 ⅝ inches
40-yard dash: 5.03 seconds
Bench: 26 reps
Broad: 103 inches
3-cone: 7.58 seconds
20-yard Shuttle: 4.59 seconds

What he does best:

• Keeps low pad level through contact. Almost never taken into the backfield. Consistently moving the line of scrimmage
• Hands and feet are constantly moving. Doesn’t stall on contact and finishes with bad intentions
• Understands the angles of the center position so, so well. Has the body control to work himself around on reach blocks. Has the ability to turn and seal head up nose tackles
• Location ability at the second level better than expected for his athleticism.

Biggest concern:

• Sometimes he’ll dip his pad level too low and overextend himself. This can be especially evident at the second level where he can get off balance and stumble
• Recognition of stunts could use some work. Will get himself caught staring at the
• Athelticism is meh. Not the smooth mover you necessarily want pulling out in front of runs.
• Bit of a one-year wonder. Graded out well below average in run blocking as a junior before putting it all together as a senior

Bottom line:

Kelly is a mauler that went up against top competition in the SEC. A two-year starter, Kelly has some nastiness to his game that NFL coaches love. He showed scheme versatility at Alabama and produced at a high level. He’ll be in the conversation for the top center come April.
