Heading into Week 16, the majority of us are out of the playoff picture for 2013 (and I say us, because I too have been eliminated in each of my pools). All that is left is to contemplate what might have been and to stew over your opponents that still have something to play for.
But if you can muster up the energy, I encourage you to take some time to self audit your team and your transactions in particular. Last week, I outlined how identifying your draft day tendencies can provide insight in preparing for your 2014 draft. But it’s also important to look at the trades you made and how you fared in each of them, to gain insight into what strengths and weaknesses you may have as a dealer.

MY TEAM POST-DRAFT | |
QB Tony Romo Michael VickWR Andre Johnson Cecil Shorts Mike Williams Brian HartlineDEF NY Jets IDP |
RB CJ Spiller Chris Johnson Lamar Miller Chris Ivory Pierre Thomas Jacquizz Rodgers Knile DavisTE Zach Sudfeld Brandon PettigrewK Matt Prater |
It wasn’t my best draft. Virtually all of my RBs underperformed, and since I relied so heavily on them in my draft strategy, I had little depth at the other positions to help me out. My QB situation was alright and there are a few decent picks at WR, but I was weak at TE and generally had a pretty average team.
Now let’s look at the trades I made:
