When comparing weekly injury reports this one seems like a “clean bill of health” compared to the bloodbath that was Week 7. Although Week 8 had six teams on bye week (Ravens, Bears, Texans, Colts, Chargers, Titans) there were still a few teams that suffered season ending losses.
The potential long terms loss of Mike Vick and Tampa Mike Williams being placed on season ending IR were a couple of the big blows for fantasy lineups. Some positive news included Julius Thomas with a mild ankle injury and Robert Griffin III who was pulled for “precautionary” reasons.
Another Week shows us why injuries are the rule and durability is the exception to the rule in football. In the Training Table, I will be providing you with recent news and notes as it pertains to injuries all season here at PFF Fantasy.
Arizona Cardinals
Rashard Mendenhall — Running Back
Injury Date: October 13, 2013 — Toe Injury
Fantasy Prognosis: Mendenhall was held out of Week 8 action with a toe injury. The Cardinals are on a bye in Week 9. Andre Ellington played very well in Mendenhall's absence. Look for Ellington to take the majority of carries if Mendenhall is not ready to play following the bye week.
