Atlanta @ Detroit
If you’ve read this column all season long, you know of my general disdain for the Lions LBs. Most week’s I’m extremely hesitant to start any of them, but this is actually a pretty solid matchup. The Falcons have a emerged as a strong matchup for tackle producing LBs over the second half of the season, so I wouldn’t be opposed to starting Stephen Tulloch as a low-end LB2. Remember to always take advantage of any edge you can find in fantasy football. One of those edges this week comes in the form of Don Carey, who has been playing safety but is designated on some fantasy host sites as a CB. If you’re in a CB-required league, Carey is an ultra sneaky start this week.
At this point in the season, most of the IDP landscape is relatively straightforward. In Atlanta, you know what you have if you own Sean Weatherspoon and John Abraham. Neither are rock stars, but both are worthy of a start as your No. 2 at their respective positions. William Moore has missed the last two games, so keep a close eye on his status as the weekend approaches. If he plays, he’s a viable DB2.
