What a season to inherit this column. Andy Dalton and Carson Palmer, perennial picks to stream just a few weeks ago, are the top two fantasy football quarterbacks, as measured by points per dropback. Tyrod Taylor, who I failed to pick any week this season, is third in fantasy points scored among quarterbacks.
Let's just rattle off the top ten in points-per-dropback: Dalton, Palmer, Cam Newton, Taylor, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, Johnny Manziel, Ben Roethlisberger, Marcus Mariota, and Brian Hoyer. Josh McCown is 11, adding a second Cleveland quarterback to the list.
How many of those would you have predicted before the season? Four? Maybe five?
It is likely that several of the aforementioned players on that list will regress to the mean as the season progresses and when they face better defenses, but it also highlights how valuable streaming quarterbacks can be.
