When the 2015 NFL schedule dropped, Week 7 stood out as one that would be difficult for fantasy owners. The teams on bye, the Bears, Broncos, Packers and Bengals are loaded with a lot of viable fantasy options.
With so many strong fantasy players unavailable this week, fantasy owners are scrambling to their waiver wire and scouring breaking news hourly to give themselves every possible advantage to survive this week.
Let’s take a look at some players that could make decent substitutions for Week 7, and some that you may not want to choose this week for start/sit options.
Start
Quarterbacks
Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jets (at Patriots) – If you’re looking for a streaming option, or need help from your waiver wire, “Fitzmagic” might be your guy this week. Fitzpatrick has been a consistent option all season with at least 16.9 fantasy points in each game, and multiple touchdown tosses in all but one contest. He’s also surrounding by an excellent supporting cast, meaning it will be hard for the Patriots to shutdown the whole New York offense. If Bill Belichick chooses, like we expect, to focus on stopping RB Chris Ivory, Fitzpatrick should have opportunities to exploit New England’s secondary with WR Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker. Even if the Patriots somehow get off to a big lead, there should be the potential for garbage time production from New York’s passing game this week.
