We know that quarterback is the most important position on the field, but a great pass rush is the ultimate equalizer. Pressure disrupts timing, rhythm and accuracy, something only the elite quarterbacks can consistently overcome.
Last season, 13 of the top 15 teams in PFF pass-rush grade had a winning record. In 2023, 15 of the top 16 teams in PFF pass-rush grade had a winning record. A dominant pass-rush is undeniably crucial to a team’s success over the course of the season.
Each week, after every NFL game is graded and reviewed, PFF will check in on the top pass rushers of the 2025 season. These rankings will change drastically early in the campaign, as one sack, hit or pressure can significantly alter a player's grade when the sample size is small. But as snap counts rise, the grades will stabilize and we'll get a clearer picture of the league's best pass rushers.
Here are the top 32 pass rushers for the 2025 season after Week 9. For more grades and statistics on the league's best pass-rushers, check out PFF Premium Stats.

Week 9 Highlights
Best Pass Rusher: Brian Burns, New York Giants
Burns’ 93.2 PFF pass-rush grade was the best mark in the NFL for Week 9. The highlight of his day was a strip-sack of quarterback Mac Jones at the end of the first half, his league-leading 11th sack of the season. The former first-round pick out of Florida State is now just 1.5 sacks short of his career high set in 2022 as a member of the Carolina Panthers.

Most Pressures: Joey Bosa, Buffalo Bills
Bosa generated a season-high nine pressures against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, the most for any player in Week 9 — and his personal best since Week 3 of the 2021 season. Four of Bosa’s nine pressures were quarterback hits, another category where he led all pass rushers this week.
Highest Win Rate: Arnold Ebiketie, Atlanta Falcons
Ebiketie's 40.0% pass-rush win rate against the New England Patriots was the best of his career. The 2022 second-round pick out of Penn State has seen his snap count drop this season but is still proving to be a productive pass rusher on limited opportunities for the Falcons.
Best Rookie Pass Eusher: Jalon Walker, Atlanta Falcons
Walker's 79.1 PFF pass-rush grade paced all rookies in Week 9. He generated four pressures, with two sacks and a forced fumble, on 18 pass-rushing snaps against the Patriots. The 18 snaps were his most in a game this season, so it’s likely the Falcons will get him more involved over the second half of the campaign in key situations.
Season Highlights
Best Pass Rusher: Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions
Hutchinson is back atop the pass-rusher rankings, boasting a 92.7 PFF pass-rush grade through Week 9. He has been in a back-and-forth battle with Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett for the top spot all season, as the three elite edge defenders have separated themselves from the rest of the pack heading into the second half of the year.
Most Pressures: Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions
Hutchinson’s 55 pressures are eight more than the next closest player, despite the Lions having a bye week in the first half of the year. He has generated at least five pressures in every game this season, aside from the Lions' season opener at Green Bay.
Highest Win Rate: Will Anderson Jr., Houston Texans
Anderson has developed from a very good pass rusher to an elite force in his third season with the Houston Texans. His 29.2% pass-rush win rate leads the NFL, and he is one of three players (Myles Garrett and Aidan Hutchinson) with a clip higher than 25.0%.
Best Rookie Pass Rusher: Donovan Ezeiruaku, Dallas Cowboys
New York Giants edge defender Abdul Carter was the clear top passing-rushing rookie over the first part of the season, but Ezeiruaku has taken off in the past few weeks and has climbed to the top with a 75.7 PFF pass-rush grade of 75.7 through Week 9 — just narrowly ahead of Carter’s 75.6 mark.
