All Arizona Cardinals offensive linemen Jonah Williams and Will Hernandez could do was vent their frustration after Micah Parsons got home again. Williams exasperatingly threw his arms up, and Hernandez, who attemped to help his beaten teammate, looked over in clear vexation.
The sack all but halted the Cardinals‘ valiant comeback bid with backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett, pushing them to a second-and-19 with 27 seconds remaining in a 27-23 game. It was Parsons' third of the contest — and 10th quarterback pressure when counting negated plays.
The Packers claimed the victory and their fourth win of the season, an all-important outcome for a team in what again appears to be the NFL's best division.
Parsons, in his fifth NFL season, is already at a point where it’s difficult to set career highs. His current best marks are in a tier of their own. And yet, he still finds a way.
The 26-year-old erupted for eight official pressures, six non-pressure pass-rush wins, a league-best 92.8 PFF pass-rush grade and a career-best 43.8% pass-rush win rate against the Cardinals in Week 7. He became the fourth qualifying player (25-plus pass-rush snaps) to exceed a 40% clip in a game this season — joining Myles Garrett, Jonathon Cooper and Trey Hendrickson.
When the Packers shipped two first-round picks and interior defender Kenny Clark to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for Parsons, it ended a monthslong contract feud — which was truly resolved when Green Bay then signed the All-Pro to a four-year, $188 million extension.
Ever since, Parsons has wreaked havoc in the same way he did in Dallas. Only in his first game as a Packer, in which he was still ramping up, has he recorded fewer than four pressures this season. His 93.7 PFF pass-rushing grade is the best mark in the NFL.
With 37 pressures through seven weeks, including a bye, Parsons has already surpassed all but one total from every Packers players last season — and even then, he’s only 12 behind Rashan Gary.

*Through Week 7
It’s another season of grueling NFC North competition, as every team currently sits at or above .500 through Week 7. Every win always matters, but it's especially true in such a tight division. The Packers enjoyed similar success last year, but it resulted in just a wild-card spot due to the Lions‘ and Vikings‘ near-pristine records. Green Bay then fell quietly in the playoffs to the eventual Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.
Perhaps Parsons is the force that can get them over that hump and into true contention for their first division title since a three-peat from 2019 to 2021. It certainly appears that way in the season's early stages.
