For most fantasy leagues we’ve now passed the half-way point of the regular season, and more than ever its do-or-die for teams with sub .500 records, so some smart waiver wire plays are greatly needed.
On top of that, there are some more injury issues, again for LB1s; Paul Posluszny suffered a torn pectoral which has landed him on IR, while Vontaze Burfict left the Bengals Week 7 game with a neck injury. It’s not his third concussion of the year according to reports, but it does mean Burfict has only managed to play one full game this season, despite having started four. He’s being called day to day, but his fantasy value is dropping until he can prove he can stay on the field.
Another notable injury was to Bears cornerback, Kyle Fuller, who broke his hand in Sunday’s loss to Miami. Don’t get too worried though, he’s been called day to day, although it may hamper his ability to snag interceptions as he had been up to know.
On to the recommendations…
Defensive Lineman
If Everson Griffen isn’t owned in your league, he should be, but don’t expect him to put up similar numbers to his Week 7 performance on a regular basis. The Bills home stat crew, as you know, is a great matchup for all IDPs, while Buffalo have been one of the best matchups for defensive lineman full stop. Griffen is an upside DL2 most weeks and somewhat underrated by many.
