5 players to add

1. RB Woody Marks, Houston Texans

While Nick Chubb started for the Texans in Week 4, Woody Marks worked in significantly, scoring two touchdowns.

The Texans started the season with Chubb as their clear lead runner and Dare Ogunbowale as their third-down back. Dameon Pierce was the primary backup on early downs in Week 1, while Marks mixed in a little bit. Marks moved up the depth chart in Week 2, becoming the primary backup, while Pierce has been a healthy inactive in each of the past three weeks. Marks made even more progress in Week 3, as the Texans stopped using Ogunobwale on third downs.

Houston’s rotation in Week 4 looked similar to last week. Chubb started the game, and Marks mixed in. On most drives, both running backs played at least one snap. They seemed to rotate which of the two played more snaps on each drive. When Marks was on the field, the drives tended to last longer than when Chubb was on the field, leading Marks to play more offensive snaps.

Marks ended the day with more carries, more yards per carry, more receiving production and two touchdowns. The rookie has generally been the more effective runner this season, averaging 2.8 yards after contact per carry, relative to Chubb's 2.2. Marks has gained at least five yards on one-third of his carries, compared to Chubb's 27.7%. While there is a chance Marks played well enough this week to be the starter next week, that is no guarantee. Regardless, he will be among the top waiver-wire pickups for another week, as he could be the starter sooner rather than later and potentially retain that role over the rest of the season.

The Texans play the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5. They could fall behind very quickly and abandon the run, but the Ravens have also allowed a lot of production to running backs due to defensive line injuries. While most fantasy managers shouldn’t have Marks in their starting lineup, with bye weeks starting next week, some will need him.

2. RB Kendre Miller, New Orleans Saints

Miller has mixed in more often each week this season.
