Fantasy Football: Week 4 IDP Report

  • Devin Lloyd has forced his way into more playing time with the Jacksonville Jaguars: Lloyd is now the second-highest graded player at his position this season. He came up with two picks in Week 4 and is closing in on an every-down role in 2025.
  • Laiatu Latu delivers on the promise of his play through his first two games: Latu dominated in Week 4, landing his first sack of the year. He looks like a strong ED2 option for IDP going forward.

Week 4 takeaways

Waiver wire

  • LB Teddye Buchanan and Trenton Simpson, Baltimore Ravens: Buchanan has been a waiver target in previous weeks for non-shallow leagues, but he’ll be of interest in a wider range of leagues if Roquan Smith misses time. Simpson played just 60% of Baltimore's offensive snaps in the third quarter with Smith out and when Buchanan was still in the game, so he would be a deeper league target should Smith miss more time.
  • LB E.J. Speed, Houston Texans: Speed can be a speculative add in deeper leagues because he played 90% of Houston's offensive snaps in the second half after taking over for Henry To’oTo’o. It’s unclear if that 90% will remain true across an entire game, but he is trending in the right direction while To’oTo’o’s stock takes a big hit.
  • LB Francisco Mauigoa, New York Jets: Mauigoa stepped into a near full-time role with both Quincy Williams and Marcelino McCrary-Ball sidelined due to injury. Mauigoa can be a fine starting option in deeper leagues for as long as both of those linebackers miss more time.
  • LB Drake Thomas, Seattle Seahawks: Tyrice Knight and Drake Thomas shared drives throughout this game, though Thomas often replaced Knight on third downs, which sunk Knight’s snap share quite a bit. Thomas should be added in deeper leagues on the chance that he increases his lead at LB2 even further going forward.
  • ED Jaelan Phillips, Miami Dolphins: For the second straight week, Phillips is not just leading the team’s edge defenders in snaps, but he’s putting together strong pass-rushing performances, even without the sacks. Over the past two weeks, specifically, Phillips has an 82.9 pass-rush grade and nine total pressures – both of which are top-20 marks for the position. For IDP managers in need of edge help with injuries and bye weeks piling up, Phillips can be a startable fill-in option for those in need.
  • ED Za’Darius Smith, Philadelphia Eagles: After Nolan Smith landed on injured reserve, Smith saw a snap share increase this week and continues to look like one of the Eagles‘ better pass-rushers. Smith will only be a deeper league option, but his strong pass-rush metrics can potentially lead to some streaming viability in certain formats as well.
  • S M.J. Stewart, Houston Texans: With the release of C.J. Gardner-Johnson, M.J. Stewart stepped into a near full-time role, playing the most box snaps from this Texans safety group in Week 4. While Stewart wasn’t overly productive this week, he can serve as a fine deep-league option for those in need of safety help.
  • S Kyle Dugger, New England Patriots: Dugger played a full-time role in the second half while Hawkins was out, getting a healthy snap share in the box. Dugger can be a good fill-in IDP safety option should Hawkins miss any more time.

  • Point of interest: Josh Sweat still isn’t playing quite as much as IDP managers would hope to see, but he was at least able to land his third sack of the season to make up for it. He’ll continue as a fringe ED2/3 as long as he continues to play well enough to reduce the risk of his slightly less-than-ideal snap share.
