Eagles LB Zack Baun draws a prime tackle matchup vs. the Lions

Zack Baun (LB2) and the Philadelphia Eagles linebackers draw a strong matchup this week against the Detroit Lions, who have allowed the most tackles per game to the linebacker position this season (19.0). While Baun remains a locked-in weekly starter, he hasn’t matched the level of tackle production he delivered last season when he finished as the overall LB1. Baun currently holds an 11.7% tackle rate, making him the only top-12 IDP linebacker scoring below the positional average (13%), suggesting some risk of regression. Still, this matchup should provide Baun with plenty of tackle opportunities.

Cowboys linebacker shake-up looms after bye week

The Dallas Cowboys’ linebacker situation is likely to change in the coming weeks. Coming out of their bye, the team acquired Logan Wilson (LB52) at the trade deadline and activated DeMarvion Overshown from injured reserve — clear reinforcements for a linebacker corps that has struggled this season, particularly with green-dot defender Kenneth Murray (LB51).

The long-term plan at linebacker will likely feature Overshown and Wilson as the starters, which will likely end the IDP value of Murray and Shemar James. While that transition may not happen in Week 11 — with both Overshown and Wilson set to play their first game for Dallas this season — it appears inevitable. Even if both are eased into action, their snaps will likely come at the expense of the current starters, making this a linebacker corps to avoid in IDP lineups until usage stabilizes.

Adding to that, the matchup provides little upside — the Las Vegas Raiders are allowing just 15.0 tackles per game to opposing linebackers this season (26th).

Greenlaw set for full-time role in Broncos linebacker corps

Dre Greenlaw (LB35) is expected to assume the Broncos’ lone full-time linebacker role following the news that Alex Singleton will take time off after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. Singleton is expected to return later this season, but for now, Greenlaw should see a significant uptick in playing time, while Justin Strnad (LB50) likely remains in his part-time LB2 role.

The Broncos linebackers draw an average matchup this week in terms of tackle potential, though Greenlaw projects as a much stronger IDP option than earlier this year, as he is yet to play more than 65% of snaps in a game this season.

Broncos edge duo faces tough test vs. elite Chiefs pass protection

Nik Bonitto (DL18) and Jonathon Cooper (DL19) face a difficult path to production this week against the Kansas City Chiefs, who rank top-five in both team pass-blocking grade (73.1) and Patrick Mahomes’ pressure-to-sack conversion rate (14.4%). Both players have been excellent this season, ranking inside the top 20 in IDP scoring among defensive linemen, with Bonitto now in the top five thanks to his 9.5 sacks on the year.

Rookie first-round left tackle Josh Simmons could return this week, which would further strengthen Kansas City’s protection. Simmons owns a 71.2 pass-blocking grade on the season but hasn’t played since Week 5. Bonitto and Cooper remain viable IDP starters, though expectations should be tempered, given the matchup.

Karlaftis faces tough Week 11 test vs. NFL’s top pass-blocking unit

George Karlaftis (DL22) draws one of the toughest matchups of the week against the league’s top-ranked pass-blocking unit and the NFL’s best quarterback in pressure-to-sack conversion rate (9.3%), Bo Nix. Karlaftis has been a reliable IDP contributor this season and is in the midst of a career year by underlying metrics, including a 78.3 pass-rush grade that ranks 20th among defensive linemen. He lines up on both sides of the defensive line, meaning he’ll see plenty of left tackle Garett Bolles, who owns a league-best 90.7 pass-blocking grade. Karlaftis’ snap volume and strong tackle floor keep him in play for IDP lineups this week, though he profiles more as a low-end DL2 in Week 11.

Quinnen Williams set for Cowboys debut in favorable Week 11 matchup

Quinnen Williams (DL30) will make his Dallas Cowboys debut this week in a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders, who rank bottom-10 in pass-blocking grade (59.9) and in Geno Smith’s pressure-to-sack conversion rate (23.3%). Williams is currently on pace for a career-low 57.1 pass-rush grade, though he’s producing a career-best 90.8 run-defense grade. He’ll look to elevate his pass-rush efficiency with his new team, and this matchup provides a strong opportunity to do so right away.

Budda Baker draws an ideal Week 11 matchup for safety tackle production

Budda Baker (DB2) hasn’t matched last season’s elite IDP production — a difficult pace to sustain — but he remains one of the league’s most reliable tacklers at the position and now draws the best safety tackle matchup of the year. Baker’s 10.6% tackle rate ranks above average among safeties, though he’s been short on splash plays so far. Those opportunities typically follow volume, and Baker continues to see plenty of it, playing 43% of his snaps in the box. With the San Francisco 49ers allowing 16.6 tackles per game to safeties (most in the league), Baker is positioned for a strong tackle game in Week 11.

Kyle Hamilton poised for bounce-back in strong Week 11 matchup

Kyle Hamilton (DB3) disappointed IDP managers last week with just one tackle, though that came in a difficult matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, who rank last in tackles allowed per game to safeties. This week, Hamilton draws a far better matchup against the Cleveland Browns, who rank top-five in tackles allowed per game to the position.

While Hamilton has been quiet in terms of splash plays this season, he’s positioned well for positive regression with Baltimore shifting to more three-safety looks that allow him to play closer to the line of scrimmage. Over the past three games, he’s averaged 7.3 blitz attempts per game — up from just 2.6 in his first five — and his box snap share has risen to 34% from 27% in that span.

Cooper DeJean’s slot role is secure ahead of a favorable Week 11 matchup

There was some concern heading into last week that Cooper DeJean (DB17) might lose slot usage after the team acquired Michael Carter at the trade deadline, but that didn’t prove to be the case in Week 10. DeJean played 77% of his snaps in the slot, while Carter logged just one defensive snap. With DeJean’s slot role secure, his IDP value remains top-tier among cornerbacks, and this week he draws a strong matchup against the Detroit Lions, who are allowing the seventh-most tackles per game to the position (12.9). DeJean should remain locked into starting lineups for CB-required formats.
