- Consider spending less valuable resources at running back: Fading the running back position is an option with so many great pass catchers available.
- Target an elite tight end early with this build: Trey McBride stands out as an early target who can provide a clear advantage at the position and allow us to focus on the other positions later in the draft.

Superflex fantasy football drafts are becoming more popular, but how and when to draft certain positions remains a common point of uncertainty. This series will focus on superflex average draft positions as we draft from the pick Nos. 7-9 range.
Know your scoring
Before diving into the pick-by-pick strategy, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the overall league and scoring settings, especially for superflex formats.
- As highlighted in the tables below, full PPR scoring balances things out more for skill-position players compared to quarterbacks, although quarterbacks still hold an advantage at the top.
- As scoring moves away from full PPR, quarterbacks will dominate even more. As more advantages are given to the skill positions, expect to see a more even distribution among the league’s top scorers.
- As league size increases, the quarterback position becomes more valuable. There are only 32 starters at most in a given week, so it becomes all the more important to load up on the position early.

ROUND 1, PICKS 7-9: The goal is a top quarterback
Grabbing an elite quarterback as early as possible in superflex drafts is always a top priority, and while Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson and Jayden Daniels are likely off the board at this point, Jalen Hurts and Joe Burrow represent great consolation prizes. At least one should be available at this point, so this’ll be the time to pounce as we kick off our draft.
Top Target: QB Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles
Sleeper Redraft SF ADP: 8.6
- Hurts has been a top-10 fantasy quarterback with a floor of 300 points in each of the past four seasons.
- Thanks to his rushing potential, Hurts holds QB1 overall potential every week and every season.
- In 2024, he averaged a position-leading 8.3 runs per game, leading to a position-leading 9.8 fantasy points per game on the ground and, again, a position-leading 147.0 fantasy points with his legs.
- Obviously, Hurts' goal-line carries are a massive advantage, and one that isn’t likely to go away any time soon. He scored 13 of his 14 rushing touchdowns on goal-line rushes during the 2024 fantasy season.
- Hurts’ situation remains the same heading into 2025. He is surrounded by high-end pass-catchers and the top-ranked offensive line in the league, and he has the green light to punch in as many short touchdowns as he can handle. Hurts is an excellent option to kick off our draft.
Other possible targets: QB Joe Burrow, RB Jahmyr Gibbs
