It would be nice if the aroma of turkey and dressing could fill the air for more than just one glorious long weekend, but just as leftover turkey sandwiches are now long gone, Week 12 is now history and it’s time to move forward and prepare for the fantasy playoffs.
Before moving into the record books, Week 12 provided its share of unpredictable big performances and key injuries. With the playoffs set to begin soon, it’s time for fantasy football owners to capitalize and use their remaining free agent budget to load up for the post season.
Here are the key free agents owned in less than half of standard fantasy football leagues, and as always, a suggestion on how much percentage of your remaining free agency budget to potentially bid on each player.
Quarterbacks
Marcus Mariota, Titans (ESPN 40% owned; FAAB 9%) – Several quarterbacks are looking very iffy, or are already out this week. Fear not, for rookie signal-caller Marcus Mariota is coming off of a strong Week 12 performance and has a very fantasy-friendly matchup this week as the Titans look for their first home win in a dozen games against division rival Jacksonville. The Jaguars have allowed the sixth-most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks, and were just torched last week by Philip Rivers. Mariota looks like a strong streaming play in regular and daily fantasy lineups this week.
