RB Devon Achane, Miami Dolphins
Achane has emerged as the focal point of Miami’s offense, playing 33 of 37 snaps with Tua Tagovailoa in Week 1 and operating as the team’s primary rusher and receiving threat out of the backfield. He ran a route on 20 of 27 dropbacks and accounted for nearly 20% of the team’s red-zone targets last season, scoring six receiving touchdowns.
Achane’s dual-threat role makes him a constant scoring threat from anywhere on the field, particularly in close. With Miami leaning on him in all phases, he’s the top candidate to find the end zone this week — whether it’s on the ground or through the air.
RB James Conner, Arizona Cardinals
The Panthers picked up right where they left off in 2024, finishing Week 1 with the league’s worst mark in yards per rush allowed (5.2) after ending last season dead last in both rush EPA and success rate.
They now face James Conner and a Cardinals offense favored by 6.5 points — an ideal rushing script for a back who has long owned one of the league’s steadiest red-zone roles. Conner handled 67% of Arizona’s inside-the-5 touches in Week 1 and remains the clear goal-line option.
With the Cardinals as 6.5-point favorites and Conner in a plus mathcup, look for the veteran running back to punch one in.
QB Justin Fields, New York Jets
Justin Fields carried the ball 12 times in the Jets' narrow loss to the Steelers, firmly establishing himself as a focal point in New York’s ground game. He saw three touches inside the 10-yard line — a 60% touch share in that area, one of the highest among all players in Week 1.
With a matchup on deck against a Bills defense that’s carried over its late-2024 struggles, expect Fields to be leaned on heavily again near the goal line, whether by design or improvisation.
