Everyone knows that we here at PFF are about more than just stats. Anyone can compile a list of the longest runs by looking at a box score, but we want to know which were the most impressive, no matter the yardage gained.
Here are the top three runs from Week 1 of the preseason:
- Corey Grant, Jaguars: 4th quarter, 1:41
Grant turned an atrociously blocked inside zone run into a monster gain with terrific speed to the edge.
- Ameer Abdullah, Lions: 1st quarter, 7:22
This is why the Lions drafted Abdullah in the second round despite already having a talented backfield. This type of game-breaking ability should have Lions fans excited.
- Josh Robinson, Colts: 3rd quarter, 7:14
Another rookie rounds out the top three. Robinson doesn’t have the speed of the first two backs on this list, but the Eagles defense found out the hard way about his power.
