One of my favorite games over at StarStreet is their Pick 5, which you can play for free each week to win a ticket to other daily games or for money.
The game is simple. There's five player vs. player matchups, and you pick who you think will score more that week. The best part is that you can play straight from our site by clicking here.
Here's this week's Pick 5:
Matthew Stafford vs. Cam Newton
Tony Romo vs. Nick Foles
Matt Forte vs. LeSean McCoy
Andre Johnson vs. Alshon Jeffery
Dez Bryant vs. Brandon Marshall
There's some pretty tough choices here, but here's my picks for Week 14:
Matthew Stafford vs. the Eagles
The Eagles-Lions game this week has all the makings of a shootout, which makes Stafford the easy choice here. Cam Newton has been on fire as of late, but the Saints defense at home is a different unit than it showed on Monday night in Seattle. Expect Stafford to throw for well over 300 yards and multiple touchdowns, which makes it tough to pick against him. The Eagles secondary is the worst part of that team which explains their 32nd ranked passing yards against ranking, which bodes well for Stafford in terms of fantasy points.
Nick Foles vs. the Lions
As aforementioned, the Eagles-Lions game should be a high scoring game, and for Nick Foles' fantasy stock this week there is no better news. Foles has been one of the best fantasy options over the last month and this week should be no different against a Lions secondary who is 26th in the NFL in terms of passing yards against. Tony Romo takes on a Chicago Bears team desperate for a win on Monday night. The Bears passing defense is good for 14th in the NFL, so Foles has the better matchup and is the better choice this week.
Matt Forte vs. the Cowboys
The Cowboys have allowed 4.8 yards per carry this season, which is among the NFL's worst. In addition to that, Matt Forte is a key element of the Bears passing game which is huge in PPR formats. LeSean McCoy takes on a Lions defensive line that has been absolutely stout against the run as of late, and should continue to do so again this week, despite the Eagles being one of the better rushing teams in the NFL. Forte has the better matchup, and is the better choice this week.
Andre Johnson vs. the Jaguars
Alshon Jeffery is coming off one of the best receiving performances of the season last week, but this week Jay Cutler may be back. Should he play this is a no-brainer because he targets Marshall almost double the amount the McCown targets him. But even if McCown plays, Andre Johnson faces the Jaguars in what is being dubbed the “Teddy Bowl” (battle for the lowest pick to get Teddy Bridgewater) on Thursday night. The Jaguars are allowing 7.8 yards per attempt which is over half a yard higher than the league average. Expect Case Keenum and Andre Johnson to take advantage of the Jaguars defense this week.
Dez Bryant vs. the Bears
Dez Bryant is among the top players in the NFL, not just at his position. He has been incredibly consistent this season and with the Bears allowing 12.7 yards per completion Dez should be in for another huge game in prime time. Brandon Marshall has been the “number two” receiver in Chicago with Josh McCown at the helm, and should he start again for the Bears, Marshall becomes a WR2 this week, making Bryant the best choice for this weekend to wrap up the Pick 5.
Don't forget, Pick 5 can be played on our site as well.
