- The Houston Texans have moved left tackle Chris Clark to injured reserve, according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. Clark suffered a season-ending ankle injury during his team’s Week 12 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.
- Clark, who was supposed to be the swing tackle for the team this season, ended up playing 77.3 percent of his team’s snaps due to Duane Brown’s holdout and subsequent trade to the Seattle Seahawks. Clark struggled as a starter, through 12 weeks his PFF overall grade of 37.7 ranks 72nd of 80 qualifying players at the position.
- In 10 games Clark played 288 pass-blocking snaps and allowed four sacks, six hits and 16 hurries, resulting in a pass-blocking efficiency of 92.9, which ranks 62nd out of 80 qualifying tackles. His 37.9 run-blocking grade ranks 65th among tackles.
- With Clark out, the Texans will turn to Kendall Lamm to protect Tom Savage’s blind side. In five game, Lamm has played a total of 76 pass-blocking snaps and allowed three sacks, and five hurries for a pass-blocking efficiency of 91.1.
