- Through the first four weeks of the season, New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is the highest-graded tight end in the NFL, with a PFF overall grade of 88.0.
- It shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Gronkowski has arguably been the most dominant player in the league over the last few seasons. His consistency has been remarkable, as he has been graded as the best tight end in football in five of his seven seasons as a pro.
- After four games of the 2017 season, Gronkowski has been the most targeted Patriot, with 28 passes being thrown his way. He’s turned those targets into 20 receptions, 318 yards and two touchdowns, and he has averaged 2.27 yards per route run, the fourth-best mark among tight ends.
- Gronkowski is not only continuing his excellence as a pass-catcher, he is also continuing to excel in his blocking duties. Through four games, Gronkowski is ranked second among tight ends with a run-blocking grade of 86.9, and ranked first with a pass-blocking grade of 73.4.
