- As Adam Caplan reported on Monday, Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Branden Albert has decided to come out of retirement and will report to the team. Albert announced his retirement last week and it has been presumed he doesn’t want to pay back a $3.4 million signing bonus.
- As of early Tuesday morning Michael DiRocco of espn.com is reporting according to a source the Jaguars aren’t likely to welcome Albert back with the team.
- Albert has been plagued by injuries since 2011, which was the last season he played a full 16-game slate. In 2016, those injuries seemingly caught up with Albert as his grade dipped to a career-low 49.0 overall, 64th among 76 qualifying offensive tackles.
- Albert’s work in the run game took a noticeable hit, as he earned a run-block grade of just 38.7, 73rd among qualifying tackles. For a more in-depth look at Albert’s career to date read our retirement coverage from a week ago.
