Lions add D-line depth, sign former Aztec Alex Barrett

The Detroit Lions have signed undrafted free agent DI Alex Barrett. He will compete for a spot on the edge.
While playing at just 255 pounds, the San Diego State product's 85.8 overall grade was the 14th best draft-eligible interior defensive lineman in 2016.
Last season he picked up 44 total QB pressures (7 sacks, 6 hits, 31 hurries) on just 388 pass rush snaps. His pass rush productivity of 9.3 ranked fifth among draft eligible 3-4 defensive ends.
Barrett also racked up 26 stops and his 9.3 run stop-percentage ranked second among draft eligible 3-4 defensive ends.
Barrett was PFF's 50th ranked UDFA post draft.
