- New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is coming off a career-worst season when he was recovering from a broken leg. “I didn’t have the get-off and change of direction (last year),” Wilkerson told com. This year he says the leg feels “way better now than it did last year.”
- Wilkerson’s play took a nose dive in 2016. He earned a career-worst 44.1 PFF grade, a steep dropoff from his 86.2 grade in 2015.
- Wilkerson’s pass-rush productivity score of 5.8 ranked 46th of 53 qualifying 4-3 defensive ends in 2016. PRP measures pressures on a per-snap basis, with weighting toward hits and sacks.
- In 2015, Wilkerson posted a PRP of 10.7, which ranked fifth-best among 53 qualifying 3-4 defensive ends.
- In 2014, Wilkerson ranked second among 49 qualifying 3-4 defensive ends in run-stop percentage at 11.8 percent, a mark that would have led the league in 2016.
