  • According Michael DiRocco of ESPN, Jacksonville Jaguars veteran LB Paul Posluszny could find himself being traded closer to the season. Posluszny is unhappy about being moved to strong side linebacker to make way for second-year player Myles Jack, and with his contract expiring next year he could depart to a team in need of help inside.
  • Posluszny ranked fourth last year among 87 qualifying linebackers with an overall PFF grade of 88.4, the highest of his 10-year career. This came after four consecutive years of poor grades for Posluszny — 2012-2015 the linebacker had grades of, in order, 45.0, 49.6, 55.3, and 44.6.
  • Last season, Posluszny had 34 stops in run defense, which tied for ninth among 58 inside linebackers (stops constitute anything considered a “loss” for the offense). Posluszny’s pass-rush productivity of 16.8 also ranked ninth among 57 inside linebackers, and his 17 total pressures ranked seventh (PRP measures pressure created on a per-snap basis with weighting toward sacks).
