- The Kansas City Chiefs and Seattle Seahawks swapped linebackers on Friday, trading Pro Bowl special teams player D.J. Alexander for reserve Kevin Pierre-Louis.
- This is the second time in three seasons that the Chiefs have traded a core special teams player to the Seahawks relatively close to the regular season, after exchanging their second-highest graded player in that capacity in 2014 (Kelcie McCray) for Rishaw Johnson in 2015.
- Alexander had nine total tackles a season ago on special teams, while playing 376 snaps in all four phases. He had 12 total tackles and blocked a punt in 387 snaps in 2015. He has missed only three tackles on special teams the last two years.
- Pierre-Louis has graded poorly both as a linebacker and a special teams player during his three years with Seattle, earning 10 stops in 261 defensive snaps and 14 tackles in 673 special teams snaps.
