Brown expected to miss Texans minicamp

  • According to Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle, Houston Texans left tackle Duane Brown is not expected to participate in this week’s mandatory minicamp. Brown, who also missed all of OTAs, is in a contract dispute with the team.
  • In 2016, Brown added another chapter to his stellar career, grading as the 14th-best offensive tackle at 86.3 overall (out of 78). Brown ranked as the ninth-best run-blocking tackle earning an 84.5 run-block grade. Brown was also effective in pass protection and surrendered just one sack on 428 pass-block snaps.
  • Brown has been one of the most consistent players in the NFL for almost a decade and has graded in the top 20 at his position for seven consecutive seasons, including five top-15 finishes. His career highlight thus far came in 2012 when he was the top tackle in the league grading at 91.3 overall.
  • Brown has had the left tackle job locked down since entering the league in 2008 and has never played fewer than 835 snaps in a season.
