Hello football fans! Here are the five things you need to know from Saturday to start your day:

  1. The New Orleans Saints have Mark Ingram and Adrian Peterson heading up the team’s running backs, so third-round draft pick Alvin Kamara has been working out with the wide receivers as well as the team’s backs in order to better utilize the rookie. Kamara, out of Tennessee, had the fourth-highest yards per route run of any back in this year’s draft class, so has a passing-game acumen that could help matters.
  2. Los Angeles Chargers CB Jason Verrett missed OTAs and minicamp as he is working to recover from a partially torn ACL. Verrett, though, is hoping to return for the start of training camp, per an ESPN report. Verrett played only four games in 2016 and put up a 63.6 PFF grade, which would have been his career-low if he had played enough snaps for it to qualify.
  3. Still working to recover from a ruptured Achilles, Tennessee Titans defensive end Karl Klug might miss the start of the team’s training camp, according to a titansonline.com report. Klug suffered the injury in Week 16 of 2016. He became a defense end in 2014, and has been a top-20 player in pass-rush productivity every year, regardless what position he has played.
  4. The departure of Dwayne Allen from Indianapolis has opened the door for Jack Doyle to take on an even bigger role for the Colts, with Erik Swoope the only other tight end likely to take much in the way of targets. PFF Senior Fantasy Analyst Scott Barrett investigates the team’s tight end situation, and whether Doyle could be a fantasy starter in 2017.
  5. Dynasty fantasy players are making big decisions this time of year, so PFF Fantasy’s Michael Moore offered up a Dynasty Stock Watch, checking in on the rising and falling values of some key veterans based on player movement in free agency and the draft, as well as simple improvements and declines. Who is it time to sell on? And who to buy?
