  • The NFL’s king of pick-sixes was back at it in Week 7: Under heavy pressure, QB Marcus Mariota floated a pass to his right, and DaRon Bland read it perfectly — jumping the route, securing the interception and racing untouched to the end zone.
  • The Philadelphia Eagles’ passing offense got back on track: Jalen Hurts delivered the throw of the game. Earning a +1.5 PFF grade on the play, Hurts dropped a perfectly placed deep ball to DeVonta Smith in stride, beating the coverage and allowing Smith to continue untouched toward the end zone.

With the new season underway, we’re launching a weekly series at PFF that provides a behind-the-scenes look at our grading process. Each week, we’ll break down some of the highest-graded individual plays, complete with tweets to show you the action.

Here are a few standout plays from Week 7.

DaRon Bland’s pick-six

The NFL’s king of pick-sixes was back at it Sunday, capitalizing on a misjudged throw by Washington Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota. Under heavy pressure, Mariota floated a pass to his right, and DaRon Bland read it perfectly — jumping the route, securing the interception and racing untouched to the end zone. The play earned Bland a +2.0 PFF grade.

Jaycee Horn’s one-handed interception

Horn had a standout performance in the Carolina Panthers’ win over the New York Jets, recording two interceptions while allowing just one catch in coverage. Both turnovers were impressive, each earning a +1.5 PFF grade, but the first was especially highlight-worthy — coming in the end zone, where Horn initially made a one-handed grab before securing the ball with both hands as he went to the ground.

Quinshon Judkins‘ long touchdown run

Judkins continues to impress in the Cleveland Browns’ backfield, and his latest touchdown run showcased why he has the potential to become one of the NFL’s elite running backs. He made a sharp cut through the line of scrimmage, forced a missed tackle from a safety in the open field and then outran everyone to the end zone, earning a +1.5 PFF grade on the play.

Jalen Hurts’ deep touchdown to DeVonta Smith

The Philadelphia Eagles’ passing offense got back on track in a big way against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, and Jalen Hurts delivered the throw of the game. Earning a +1.5 PFF grade on the play, Hurts dropped a perfectly placed deep ball to DeVonta Smith in stride, beating the coverage and allowing Smith to continue untouched toward the end zone.
