Every Monday, we’ll bring you five key storylines borne out by PFF's grades and data. Here’s what stood out in Week 5.

WR:CB Matchup Chart

QB Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens

PFF Grade: 94.6

Jackson’s raw stat line seems mediocre — 22-of-38 for 236 yards and a late interception. It doesn’t tell close to the full story. The Ravens' pass-catchers dropped seven balls against the Steelers, five of which came on throws targeted 10-plus yards downfield, letting Jackson down time and time again.

Three potential Jackson touchdown passes — one each for Mark Andrews, Rashod Bateman and Nelson Agholor — slipped through receivers' hands. This was one of the best games of Jackson's career as a passer; it just doesn’t translate to the box score.

WR Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals

PFF Grade: 92.6

Chase proclaimed last week that he’s always open. That was certainly the case this week as the Bengals' offense finally got going in a road win over the Arizona Cardinals. Targeted 19 times with Tee Higgins out for the game, Chase racked up 192 yards on 15 receptions and scored three touchdowns. He played 49 snaps as a receiver, averaging a whopping 3.92 yards per route run on the day.

QB Jared Goff, Detroit Lions

PFF Grade: 93.9

The Detroit Lions offense is cooking with gas right now, and Jared Goff is a big reason why. He went 20-of-28 against the Panthers, and four of those incompletions were a result of dropped passes. Goff made a big-time throw on 10.7% of his pass attempts. More importantly, he didn’t have a turnover-worthy play in the game. When Goff plays this well, the Lions can go toe-to-toe with any team in the NFL.

DI Christian Wilkins, Miami Dolphins

PFF Grade: 91.4

Wilkins was a monster up front for the Dolphins this week, dominating against the New York Giants interior offensive line. On the field for 30 pass-rushing snaps, he racked up a sack, a hit and six hurries. With another three plays where he won the rep without generating pressure, he finished the game with a 33.3% pass-rush win rate.

EDGE Aidan Hutchinson, Detroit Lions

PFF Grade: 94.1

Hutchinson continued his strong start to the season with another big performance in the Lions' win over the Carolina Panthers. He registered a sack and eight hurries from 40 pass-rushing snaps, earning a 25.0% pass-rush win rate thanks to another four wins where he didn’t generate pressure. His best play of the game came on a screen pass, reading the throw to the tight end on second-and-7 with 7:37 left in the first quarter before tipping the ball to himself for an interception.
