NFL Week 2: Highest-graded plays of the week

  • Jaylen Warren‘s catch-and-run: Warren tied for the highest-graded play by a non-specialist this week, thanks to an electric catch-and-run. He forced four missed tackles on a pass that traveled just eight yards in the air, turning it into a massive gain.
  • Fred Warner’s forced fumble and recovery: With Ji’Ayir Brown wrapping up the tackle, Warner went straight for the ball, not only forcing a fumble from Alvin Kamara but also recovering it himself.

With the new season underway, we’re kicking off a weekly series at PFF that offers a behind-the-scenes look at our grading process. Each week, we’ll break down some of the highest-graded individual plays—complete with tweets to show you the action.

Here are a few standout plays from Week 2.

Jaylen Warren’s magnificent catch and run

Jaylen Warren tied for the highest-graded play by a non-specialist this week, thanks to an electric catch-and-run. He forced four missed tackles on a pass that traveled just eight yards in the air, turning it into a massive gain and earning a +2.0 grade on the play.

Cam Ward’s ridiculous touchdown throw

The No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft showed exactly why the Titans made him their top choice, capping the first half with a spectacular touchdown throw that earned a +1.5 PFF grade — tied for the highest single-play grade by a quarterback this season. He did well to evade pressure, but the real magic came afterward, launching a cross-body strike that traveled from the right sideline to the left-side numbers for the score.

Jake Hummel’s blocked punt

PFF grades special teams, too, and Jake Hummel’s second-quarter punt block against the Browns was one of the highest-impact plays of the week, earning a +1.5 grade. Hummel executed a stunt to perfection, isolating the Browns’ personal protector in a one-on-one matchup and overpowering him en route to the block.

Fred Warner’s forced fumble and recovery

Proving once again why he’s the best linebacker in football, Fred Warner earned a +2.0 PFF grade with one of the week’s most impressive plays. With Ji’Ayir Brown wrapping up the tackle, Warner went straight for the ball — not only forcing a fumble from Alvin Kamara but also recovering it himself.

Micah Parsons’ quick win

Micah Parsons has been dominant since arriving in Green Bay, and he made life miserable for Commanders rookie right tackle Josh Conerly Jr. on Thursday Night Football. He registered four plays with a +1.5 PFF grade, including a lightning-quick inside win for a sack on Jayden Daniels.
