The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed defensive tackle Vita Vea to a four-year contract extension on Saturday night.

Vea's agent Collin Roberts told reporters that the defensive tackle's deal is worth over $73 million. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that Vea’s deal has $42 million guaranteed. Vea is now extended through the 2026 season.
Vea has an 85.2 overall PFF grade over the course of his four-year career, which ranks 15th among all interior defensive linemen. Vea’s 84.4 overall PFF grade over the last two seasons ranks eighth in that span of time.

At 6-foot-4, 347 pounds, Vea is also one of the NFL’s top pass-rushing defensive linemen, as his 78.0 pass-rushing grade this season ranks ninth among interior defensive linemen. He has five sacks, eight QB hits and 40 total pressures this season.
The former Washington Husky was a key cog on the Buccaneers’ 2020 Super Bowl-winning team, as his 89.9 overall PFF grade last season was a career-high.
The Buccaneers selected Vea 12th overall in the 2018 NFL Draft. He was set to play on a fifth-year option in 2022 before signing his extension.
