Another Super Bowl ring down, four — or more? — to go.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes found himself under relentless pressure for most of the first half, and at times it looked as though the San Francisco 49ers defense would prove to be an obstacle too arduous to overcome. But the superstar signal-caller put the team on his back when it mattered most and produced some more postseason magic to lead his Chiefs to their second consecutive Super Bowl victory.

Offensive spotlight: Who else but Patrick Mahomes? The Chiefs quarterback finished 34-of-46 for 333 yards, two touchdowns and one interception on the night, but he also ended the game as the Chiefs' leading rusher.

According to PFF's first review of the game film, the Chiefs quarterback was pressured on 22 of his 55 dropbacks, but he still averaged 7.2 yards per pass attempt and recorded just one turnover-worthy play (the interception).

Mahomes finished a perfect 8-of-8 for 42 yards and a score on his game-winning drive in overtime, and he conjured a vital fourth-down conversion to keep his team in the game early in that drive.

In the end, the Mahomes-Travis Kelce connection was just inevitable. Kelce caught nine of his 10 targets for 93 yards and five first downs, producing two explosive plays of 15 or more yards.

Defensive spotlight: If this really was Chris Jones‘ final game with the Kansas City Chiefs, it was one he can be incredibly proud of. Jones generated one hit, four hurries and two more pass-rush wins across 35 pass-rush snaps, and he added two defensive stops against the run.

The result may not have gone in his favor, but 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa always seemed to be in a position to impact this game. Bosa racked up a game-high 12 pressures on first review — three hits and nine hurries  — and added two stops against the run.

Rookie spotlight: Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice came down with six of his eight targets for 39 yards — 35 of which came after the catch — and three first downs. After a sensational rookie season, he'll step into Year 2 not only as a Super Bowl champion but as the leading receiver in Kansas City's offense.
