Fantasy: Offensive Depth Chart Review - Green Bay Packers

StacheQuarterback:

1 – Aaron Rodgers

Rodgers was PFF's 4th best rated QB on the 2010 season with a 57.0 rating.   Not only did he produce a 28/11 TD:INT ratio through the air, but he also contributed 356 yards and 4 TDs on the ground.  While this was a step back in total TD production from 2009, he was sacked much less, and as a result, had less fumbles.  Rodgers posted stellar downfield ratings as well.

2 – Matt Flynn

Flynn played admirably while filling in for Rodgers, going 40 for 62 for 433 yards, 3 TD and 2 INT.  He only had a 45.8 QB rating under pressure, but overall, is a solid backup for Rodgers.

3 – Graham Harrell

Harrell has not attempted an NFL throw yet.

Running Back:

1 – Ryan Grant

Grant's 2010 season was derailed by a season-ending injury in Week 1.  In 2009, however, Grant posted a solid 1318 yards and 11 TDs on the ground.  With James Starks in the mix though, it's tough to imagine him replicating those numbers next season and beyond.

2 – James Starks

Starks played well in the limited time he was given.  He had 110 carries for 416 yards, but created 13 missed tackles and had a +3.8 rating on the season despite only seeing action in 7 games, which included 4 playoff games.  Starks was pedestrian through the air with 5 receptions for 30 yards in that span.

3 – Dimitri Nance

Nance is best suited in a backup role as he was in last season.  He had 36 carries for a highly subpar 2.6 yards per attempt, and only caused 1 missed tackles on those rushes.

Fullback:

1 – John Kuhn

Kuhn provided versatility in Green Bay and was a fan favorite while running the ball.  He registered a +4.1 pass block rating, and carried the ball 90 times for 287 yards, though as his 5 TDs will tell you, many of those rushes were in shorter yardage situations.  His snap distribution was geared more towards blocking.

Wide Receiver:

1 – Greg Jennings

Jennings was PFF's 9th best WR with an 8.1 grade.  He caught 76 balls on 120 attempts with a solid 16.6 yards per catch and 12 touchdowns, which was tied for the best in the NFC.  Jennings also had a solid 5.5 YAC per reception.  45% of Jennings' snaps came from the left side, 28% from the right side, and the rest were from the slot, displaying his versatility.

2 – Donald Driver

Driver regressed during the 2010 season; he played only 695 snaps and had a -7.1 rating.  His yards per reception were 11.1 and his YAC per reception was 3.6, which were far cries from 2009's respective totals of 15.2 and 5.4 respectively.

3 – Jordy Nelson

Nelson came in with a +1.7 rating including the playoffs; while he had a regular rating on the regular season, his superb playoff totals netted him a+4.3 rating alone.  Nelson has never been a huge YPR guy, but his YAC per reception was a very solid 5.7, and he lined up at all WR spots on the field consistently.

4 – Brett Swain

Swain was only thrown at 11 times and caught 6 balls for 72 yards on the year.

5 – Chastin West

6 – Antonio Robinson

Tight End:

1 – Jermichael Finley

After bursting onto the scene in 2009, Finley's 2010 season was cut short after 4 weeks due to injury.  However, in 4 games, he racked up 21 catches for 301 yards, and his +5.5 pure pass rating put him 9th best for Tight Ends despite missing so much time.

2 – Andrew Quarless

Quarless mixed in pass catching with run blocking as his primary functions.  He took 263 snaps as a pass catcher, and recorded 21 catches for 238 yards and 1 TD.  He was not top 20 in any metrics such as YPR, YAC or catch %.

3 – Tom Crabtree

Crabtree played 395 snaps, but was asked to block on 302 of those snaps.  His run block rating was a dismal -13.7, but he did have a positive pass block rating.

4 – Spencer Havner

Kicker:

1 – Mason Crosby

Crosby had an ugly -3.0 rating (55th best for kickers), thanks in part to his kickoff rating in which he registered only 4 touchbacks on 84 attempts.  Based on FG/XPs alone, he was 17th best with a +3.7 rating, converting 78% of his tries.
