Fantasy: Instant NFL Draft Reaction - Ryan Tannehill to the Miami Dolphins

The former Texas A&M quarterback is one of the more difficult fantasy prospects to gauge coming out of college. He had just 19 starts, and his stats were not particularly gaudy–he threw for 3,744 yards, 29 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions.

Those turnovers are a concern. He was, however, plagued by a high number of receiver drops. He was also blitzed quite a bit, which contributed to the issue as well.

A quarterback-turned-receiver-turned-quarterback, Tannehill brings a lot of upside to the table. He is athletic and mobile, meaning he will likely score some points on the ground. Whether he gets playing time as a rookie or not is a good question.

Miami may have been the best landing spot for the former Aggie, at least when it comes to playing time. He may have time to sit and learn with Matt Moore and David Garrard on board, though. This means he is undraftable except in rookie drafts, where he is a decent addition somewhere in the late first or second round. If he ascends to the starter position at any point this season, his legs might get him to QB2 status, but nothing more.
