Fantasy: Instant NFL Draft Reaction - Andrew Luck to the Indianapolis Colts

As we have known for months, despite bored rumors to the contrary, the Colts get another fifteen-year franchise quarterback in Andrew Luck with the first pick in the 2012 NFL Draft.

Much like Manning as a rookie, Luck will offer very little in redraft formats this season. The Colts are in full rebuild mode, meaning it will be an uphill battle for Luck. With old man Reggie Wayne and Austin Collie as his main targets, Luck will be hard-pressed to score fantasy points. As such, he is nothing more than a late-round flier in two-quarterback leagues.

From a dynasty standpoint, however, Luck is one of the top-two prospects to target in rookie drafts along with Trent Richardson. Though Luck's college statistics were never mind-boggling–Stanford ran a pro-style, run-oriented offense–he has all the tools to play at a high level for years. He did have a healthy 8.9 career YPA and exceeded a 70 percent completion percentage his last two seasons, however.

After a year or two of experience, and when the Colts get him some help, Luck should be putting up crooked fantasy scores on a regular basis.
