Fantasy: IDP - Pick Six

Championship week has come and gone in most leagues, and now it’s time to start looking forward to next year’s season. But before we can look forward, let’s reflect on some of the biggest contributors of championship week.

New England sophomore cornerback, Devin McCourty had the game that owners had been waiting all season for. McCourty put up 4 solo tackles, 9 total tackles, 1 tackle for a loss, 3 passes defended, and 1 interception against the Miami Dolphins, which was good for a score of 1.1. He now sits at a negative 1.9 PFF rating on the season.

Not to be outdone by his fellow defensive counterpart, New England linebacker Jerod Mayo made sure to help out his owners when they needed him most by posting a mega line of 7 solo tackles, 11 total tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, and 2 sacks against the Miami Dolphins. Despite the great fantasy game, Mayo received a negative 2.3 score, giving him a 8.4 PFF rating on the year.

Jairus Byrd was a big reason that the Buffalo Bills were able to overcome Tebow-mania, and get a win against the Denver Broncos. The safety generated 5 solo tackles, 7 total tackles and an interception for a touchdown. The big game got him a 3.3 score, and he now holds a 12.1 PFF rating this year.

Washington Redskins linebacker, London Fletcher, continues to play at an elite level despite his older age. For those who continued to ride him, hoping for one more big year, they definitely were not disappointed during the championship week. Against the Minnesota Vikings, the stud linebacker had 11 solo tackles, 16 total tackles, 2 tackles for a loss, and 0.5 sacks, good for a 3.1 PFF rating, pushing it to 18.2 on the season.

The game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Houston Texans wasn’t exactly exciting to watch, but there were a couple defensive monsters in the game. The first was defensive end Robert Mathis, who had 3 solo tackles, 2 sacks, 1 tackle for a loss, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery for the Colts. The big game gave him a 2.7 PFF rating, and he now sits with a 15.1 PFF rating this year.

On the other side of the field, Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt against the made sure he did his part by recording 5 solo tackles, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss, and 3 passes defended. And despite a negative penalty grade, he was still able to score a whopping 6.4 overall PFF grade, to push his season total to 25.7.
