(Welcome to PFF Fantasy’s Bold Predictions Week. All week long, our writers will offer up the boldest of predictions for the season to come. It’s easy to say Aaron Rodgers will be good; it’s harder to say Mike Glennon will be the No. 1 quarterback. Not that anyone is guessing that, but you get the idea. Check back all week for more.)
No one will mistake me for being bold. Even my tastes veer in other directions. I like things neat (scotch), dirty (martini), dry (wine), and rare (steak), but nothing bold. My diet notwithstanding, it is my turn to take on bold prediction week and I will be making them by division. Assuming my colon and liver hold up, here is my first attempt at the series.

Jay Ajayi leads the NFL in rushing attempts
While rush attempts are not a fantasy scoring statistic, opportunity plays a huge rule in accumulating points. Including the playoffs, Ajayi had 15-plus carries in all but two of his 13 starts. If Ajayi had kept his starting pace of 19.85 carries per game, he would have finished with 318 carries, just four behind last year’s leader (Ezekiel Elliott). Now, Ajayi gets Jay Cutler as his quarterback, someone who has only surpassed 500 attempts in three of his 11 career seasons. Between Cutler’s injuries and shaky accuracy, expect the Dolphins to rely on their run game again. Add in subpar backups at running back and this backfield will be almost exclusively Ajayi’s territory. I’ll take my chances here.
