This weekend is the definition of slim pickings in DFS, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find bargains on your way to rostering Le’Veon Bell. Here are some DFS bargains that need to be a part of your winning lineup.
Quarterback
Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers (at New England)
FanDuel: $8,000 (fourth)
DraftKings: $5,800 (fourth)
Yahoo: $30 (fourth)
Roethlisberger is the cheapest quarterback option of the week. On DraftKings, all the other quarterbacks are at least $7,100, so Roethlisberger is a complete steal. Roethlisberger was his classic “disappointment on the road” self when he threw for 224 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in the Divisional Round at Arrowhead. The Steelers leaned on Chris Boswell to score literally all the points against the stingy Chiefs defense. Well, this week they will need to do more because Tom Brady will put up points. As inconsistent as Roethlisberger was all season, he never put up two single-digit fantasy games in a row. He seems to adjust on a weekly basis that helps him bounce back. The Patriots haven’t played a top-tier quarterback all season, save for Russell Wilson in Week 10. Wilson threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions. Literally, we have no other indication of how the Patriots defense will hold up against a good quarterback. Here are the quarterbacks they faced this season: Brock Osweiler, Matt Moore, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Trevor Siemian, Joe Flacco (also put up over 300 yards and scored two touchdowns), Jared Goff, Colin Kaepernick, EJ Manuel, Tyrod Taylor, Landry Jones, Andy Dalton, Cody Kessler/Charlie Whitehurst, Ryan Tannehill and Caron Palmer. Taylor was the only quarterback of the group who ended the season as a top-10 fantasy quarterback — he scored 16 or more points in each of his outings against the Patriots.
