What rookies and college players have made their fantasy mark so far?

It's time to check in on the dynasty and developmental league progress of some of the younger players. Some of these guys have value in fantasy right now, but a lot of them will have value in the future, and that's our purpose here. First, we'll look at some of the rookies going right now, and at the bottom, we'll take a peek at some of the biggest future names in the college game.

The rookies

With the various current question marks surrounding Laquon Treadwell, Corey Coleman and Josh Doctson, the door has been left wide open for Sterling Shepard to enter his name firmly into the conversation as the best rookie asset at the receiver position. Treadwell was a healthy scratch for the second time in three games Sunday as Stefon Diggs has asserted himself as the Vikings’ top option, Coleman is missing several weeks with a broken hand with Josh Gordon’s return looming, and Doctson was forced to sit out Week 3 with his now multi-month nagging Achilles again flaring up.

Meanwhile, Shepard is playing 95 percent of the Giants’ offensive snaps on the year and scored his second touchdown on the young season this past week, catching five of seven targets for 73 yards (14.6 YPR). He now has at least 70 yards and/or a touchdown in all three games of his young career while operating as Eli Manning’s clear second option behind Odell Beckham Jr. If rookie drafts were being held today, the rookie from Oklahoma would be a justifiably popular top-three pick.
