Every year, there are a number of high-risk, high-reward fantasy options. Some of these players go boom, like Devonta Freeman last year, while other players go bust, like Tom Brady’s new haircut. Entering the final weekend of fantasy drafts, here are seven risk/reward players worth considering when it’s your turn to pick.
Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
The ultimate boom-or-bust option at quarterback this year goes to the rookie preseason darling who will now be thrust into a starting job to open the season in the wake of Tony Romo’s back injury. The timetable on Romo’s return remains vague, but we’re likely looking at Prescott under center until at least the Cowboy’s bye in Week 7.
Prescott enters the league after putting up big numbers in college. He racked up 8,228 passing yards and 56 touchdowns passes over the last two season. Prescott also led Mississippi St. in rushing last season with 588 yards and 10 scores. We’ve seen this skill set on full display in the preseason, as Prescott leads all quarterbacks with 454 yards and five touchdowns through the air.
