- Omarion Hampton is back in time to win fantasy championships: Despite seeing the field only 31% of the time in his first game back after fracturing his ankle, Hampton still scored 14.7 fantasy points in Week 14. Expect his workload to increase quickly as the Los Angeles Chargers make a push for the NFL playoffs.
- Quinshon Judkins is trending down: Judkins' efficiency has fallen off since his early-season breakout, averaging just 3.2 yards per carry and 11.6 fantasy points over the past eight games. He saw just 14 carries and 46% of playing time in Week 14 despite the Cleveland Browns playing in a close matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Below are the top running back takeaways from Week 14 that could have a significant impact on fantasy points in Week 15 and beyond.
Omarion Hampton’s snaps were limited in his first game back from injury
Los Angeles Chargers first-round rookie running back Omarion Hampton returned to the field last Monday night after a seven-game absence due to an ankle fracture. In his first game back, he was limited to just 31% of the Chargers' snaps, while Kimani Vidal led the backfield in playing time at 69%. Despite the large disparity in snap count, Vidal and Hampton split the backfield workload 50/50 with 15 touches apiece in Week 14 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Vidal finished with 37 more scrimmage yards on the day due to a 60-yard reception early in the game, but Hampton was more efficient on the ground between the two, averaging 4.3 yards on his 13 carries compared to Vidal’s 3.1 yards on 14 attempts. Also, Hampton caught Justin Herbert’s only touchdown of the day, making fantasy managers happy with a 14.7 fantasy point outing despite limited work.
Hampton’s workload should increase greatly as he gets further removed from the injury. I would expect his snap count to possibly double as soon as this weekend. Hampton should be considered a top-15 fantasy running back, with top-10 upside, the rest of the season.

Los Angeles Rams RB2 Blake Corum has a career day
Second-year running back Blake Corum has finally started to earn a role for himself in the Los Angeles Rams’ offense behind the team’s workhorse starter, Kyren Williams. Corum has set career-highs in rushing yards in back-to-back games with 81 yards in Week 13 and 128 yards in Week 14. He has found the end zone three times and scored 30.2 fantasy points over the last two weeks. On the season, only four running backs have averaged more yards per rush than Corum’s 5.4 (De’Von Achane, Jahmyr Gibbs and Jonathan Taylor).
Corum has now logged over 30% of the snaps in five straight games, and the team is clearly making a conscientious effort to keep Kyren Williams healthy and fresh for the NFL playoffs. Unfortunately, the Rams have tough upcoming matchups against the Detroit Lions and Seattle Seahawks, both of which have two of the stingiest defenses against fantasy running backs in the league this season. However, Corum should be rostered in all leagues as he has stand-alone value as a flex play, and if Kyren Williams were to go down, he would jump into top 12 starting RB territory.

Quinshon Judkins sees workload dwindle
Fantasy football managers will have a challenging decision to make in the first round of the playoffs when it comes to rookie Quinshon Judkins. After a hot start to the year, he’s had a brutal run over the past eight games, averaging just 3.2 yards per attempt while sitting as the RB26 with 11.6 points per game in full-PPR scoring formats in that span. Luckily for fantasy managers, his workload has kept his floor relatively safe with 15 or more carries in eight of 12 games played this year.
That wasn’t the case in Week 14, though; Judkins totaled just 14 rush attempts and played just 46.4% of offensive snaps (both his lowest marks since Week 8), and his 9.4 fantasy points ranked as the RB26 on the week. Despite the dip in work last week, Judkins has a favorable upcoming schedule that could offer some upside for fantasy managers. The Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills and Pittburgh Steelers have each allowed 100-plus rush yards per game to running backs dating back to Week 9.

Woody Marks gets career-high 26 carries in Week 14 with Nick Chubb injured
Last Sunday night, Nick Chubb suffered a rib injury early in the first half that forced him to miss the remainder of the Houston Texans game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Rookie running back Woody Marks was given a massive opportunity in the game, seeing a career-high 84% playing time and 26 carries in the game. His efficiency struggled against a stingy Chiefs’ run defense, but he was able to snag a receiving touchdown to score a solid 15.6 fantasy points on the day.
If Marks continues to get a large workload, he could be a league-winner in fantasy playoffs due to his amazing upcoming schedule. The Texans will face the Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders over the next two weeks, who have allowed the third and fourth-most fantasy points per game to the running back position over the last three weeks.
