Football is a game of matchups. There is a saying in fantasy football to “start your studs,” but we really want to rely on the players who will score the most fantasy points. Talent plays a big factor in which players score the most, but matchups also heavily contribute.

Digging deep into the PFF database, here are four cases where the combination of how the two teams play or use their players will lead to bigger games by the offenses involved.
Take a chance on Tyrod Taylor
Taylor has missed most of the season with injury but is splitting first-team reps this week in hopes of playing against the Dolphins. This week, the usual suspects are the best options at quarterback, but Taylor is a solid option if your usual starter either has a bye week or has Covid-19.

He was off to a great start with Houston before the injury, averaging 0.82 fantasy points per dropback. That is more than any other quarterback who has started most of the season. Taylor is facing a Dolphins team that has given up the fourth-most fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks (21.6). Each of the last four quarterbacks to face the Dolphins has finished as a top-14 QB for the week.
Taylor is widely available and is one of the top backup options if he plays.
